Longreach Cup - Sprint Package

Your Longreach Cup adventure begins today with a QantasLink flight to Longreach. On arrival at Longreach Airport, you’ll be met by your Outback Aussie Tours Driver/Guide for a welcome to Longreach Town Orientation prior to check in at the Longreach Motor Inn. After some free time at your accommodation, we head out to the historic Rosebank station for a paddock tour and stories of yesteryear. Originally settled as a sheep and cattle station some 100 years ago, Rosebank was famously visited in 1959 by Princess Alexandra and Princess Alice. Finish the day at the homestead with a savouries at sunset dinner prior to taking in the Calcutta at the Birdcage Hotel. This Calcutta event allows you to buy or be entertained by the chance of bidding and/or picking the winner of the Longreach Cup in great Longreach tradition.

Enjoy an easy start to the day with brunch at the Branch Café. Share the local tips from last night’s Calcutta and get ready for the major event of the Longreach Cup. It’s time for the main event at the Longreach racecourse, including the VIP tent hosted by the Longreach Jockey Club. Relax and take in the atmosphere of being trackside for the races, with a progressive food and beverage package to enjoy the hospitality as it flows through the afternoon. Try your luck with a flutter with the local bookies and maybe enter the Fashions on The Field competition. This evening, celebrate the wins with dinner at Harry’s restaurant.

This morning, we join the Historic Ilfracombe Rail Excursion. This is a great lazy Sunday experience as we leave Longreach Station and head east to feel the freedom of the vast open plains. Disembarking in Ilfracombe, enjoy time to explore the great stories and character of this quaint little town, before quenching your thirst with a welcome drink and lunch at the famous Wellshot Hotel. A charming relaxed morning, before returning to Longreach. Your Longreach Cup Sprint package sadly comes to an end as we transfer back to the Longreach Airport for your flight departure with stories to tell your friends and family for years.
