Embark on an offbeat adventure along QLD Music Trails - The Outback, where the marvels of Queensland's outback come alive through the magic of music!

Day 1: Sunday - Cunnamulla

Start the day with an 8am Rex Airlines flight from Brisbane to St George. On arrival enjoy a welcome by your outback Aussie Tours team before embarking on the Outback music trail. Enjoy a welcome lunch with the locals at Bollon, hosted by the Nullawokka Gallery. This event features live entertainment, artisan market stalls, and a unique bush tucker experience at Bollon Civic Centre. Highlights include a welcome and cultural presentation by Uncle Bill Speedy, a yidiki performance by didgeridoo player Tommy Crow, and a three-course lunch.

2 nights at Club Boutique Hotel or Warrego Hotel Motel, Cunnamulla


Day 2: Monday - Cunnamulla

Enjoy a welcome tour of Cunnamulla, featuring the Cunnamulla Fella and Robber’s Tree, followed by leisure time and a relaxing lunch. Travel to Charlotte Plains for the QLD Music Trails Event, Ballads & Bush Yarns. Enjoy an evening of bush poetry, storytelling and live music under the stars, featuring Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham (The Waifs), Brad Butcher & more. 


Day 3: Tuesday - Thargomindah

Start with breakfast at the Club Boutique Hotel, followed by a relaxing experience at the Cunnamulla Hot Springs. Visit the charming town of Eulo for lunch at the Eulo Queen Hotel and hear the story of Isabel, dubbed the Eulo Queen. Travel to Thargomindah via Lake Bindegolly NP; check into your accommodation; and enjoy a late afternoon tour of Thargomindah’s highlights, including the Artesian Hydro Power Plant and Historic Mudbrick Hospital.

1 night at Oasis Motel or Explorers Caravan Park, Thargomindah


Day 4: Wednesday - Toogunna Plains Farmstay

After breakfast, we explore the rugged country beyond the Dingo Fence and Gray Range. Enjoy morning tea at the historic Noccundra Hotel, followed by a mid-afternoon check-in to your accommodation. In the evening, relax with welcome drinks and nibbles during a Kyra Sand Hills sunset tour.

1 night at Toogunna Plains Farmstay


Day 5: Thursday - Quilpie

Tour Toogunna Station with lunch, followed by a visit to the Eromanga Natural History Museum for lunch, a tour, and museum entry. Late afternoon enjoy Unearthed: A Night at Eromanga with food on the lawn, Science Talks, guided museum tours, and live music. The evening features neo-country duo Bronson Diamond & Greta Stanley, delivering a memorable performance under the expansive outback sky.

1 night at Quilpie Motor Inn, Quilpie


Day 6: Friday - Charleville

This morning, we begin with a highlights tour of Quilpie, including stories of the Opal Altar. Departing Quilpie and travelling to Charleville, stopping at the Memorial Mulga Ridge and Fox Trap Hotel. Arrive and check into your accommodation late afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Cosmos Centre and dinner.

2 nights at Mulga Country Motor Inn, Charleville


Day 7: Saturday - Charleville

Enjoy a day around Charleville with a visit to the Date Farm, a Bilby experience, and leisure time, followed by a tour and lunch at Hotel Corones. Get ready for a big afternoon enjoying the QLD Music Trails Event, Outback Sounds at Charleville Showgrounds. Highlights include a Welcome to Country ceremony, live music from Brisbane’s The Wet Whistles, Bella Mackenzie’s vibrant country-pop, Bronson Diamond and Greta Stanley’s dynamic full-band show, and a finale by country superstar James Johnston.


Day 8: Sunday - Homeward Bound

On our last day, join with a tour of the WWII Secrets Base, including entry to the site, before enjoying a Farewell Brunch. Take the time to celebrate the incredible music trail experiences, share cherished memories, and marvel at the unforgettable communities and characters of the great southwest Mulga country. Finally, board a 12:40pm flight from Charleville to Brisbane.
