Smithy's Cruise and Dinner - WOW - what a great experience! Highly recommended. Great group of tour coordinators/guides/ staff etc. Cruise was amazing - our boat captain provided a wonderful interesting commentary . Sunset was amazing - what a beautiful relaxing way to spend some time. Dinner at the campsite was also excellent - everything was well organised and set up - food was very nice and loved finishing the meal with tea and damper with syrup! Entertainment via Owen Blundell was fabulous - what a great show - thanks Owen! this was a wonderful night - well worth the $ - will go again when next in Longreach. Well done to all involved. Loved it.

Must Do Activity in Longreach! During our stay in Longreach we undertook the sunset dinner cruise on the Thomsen River with Outback Aussie Tours. Simply spectacular! Picked up in a coach at our accommodation and delivered to embarkation on the boat. We enjoyed some of the most extraordinary scenery accompanied by knowledgeable explanations by Captain Russell and his able first mate, Joyce. This completely reSunset Cruise- a must while you are here! Great fun on the River- very informative. Bring along your camera for some fantastic shots. Drinks were cold and a few dips and chips! The dinner and show was good fun too. Dinner was very good. Dessert needs some improvement. But the cuppa and damper was good end. Entertainment was fun great for families and laxing sojourn was followed by an enjoyable dinner under the stars with live entertainment. We believe that this was the absolute highlight of our 4,211 km road trip and urge anyone who visits Longreach to do this.

Drovers Sunset Cruise - What an AWESOME afternoon and evening! Slow ride up the Thomson River, nibblies and drinks. Then back to the shore for a beautiful meal and fantastic entertainment. The highlight of our trip so far. ReasonablySunset Cruise- a must while you are here! Great fun on the River- very informative. Bring along your camera for some fantastic shots. Best afternoon and evening we had while on a months holiday! A beautiful cruise on the river before enjoying camp oven cooked meal over the fire followed by a lovely dessert, then an enjoyable cup of tea or coffee with damper. The evening was topped with lovely entertainment by Owen who also was a very good inpersonator. As I said the best on our months holiday.

Excellent night out in Longreach! This was one of the most relaxing activities we did on our recent trip to western Queensland. The cruise was just beautiful - peaceful calm water; loads of birdlife and turtles; commentary as we cruised, nibbles and drinks, and sunset photos. Smithy's dinner (with gluten free options too) was really enjoyable. Entertainment was awesome! Embarrassed the kids by singing along! A "must-do"

Amazing! We booked on the "Drovers Sunset Cruise" which included the "Smithy's Camp Oven" meal after the cruise. The cruise on the Thomson River in the late afternoon is both beautiful and informative as the very knowledgeable guide explains the history and the wildlife as you glide along. The picturesque western Queensland sunsets reflected on the river are a photographers delight. The meal at the end of the cruise provided by Smithy's was superb. We had the slow cooked lamb and the famous Barra which was truly mouthwatering. All the while a very talented local entertainer provided good old foot stomping music. A must do tour for everyone passing through Longreach especially when the tour operator provides coach transport to/from your motel accommodation.
