Our 6-day Legendary Longreach & Winton tour gives you six days to experience two of the region’s best-known outback towns and many of the stories, people and landscapes that make this part of Queensland so special. It is the shortest and lowest-priced of these four tours, so it is a great option if you want a proper outback experience without committing to a longer journey.

Our Longreach and Winton tour is about more than simply ticking off attractions. Alongside iconic experiences such as the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Qantas Founders Museum, Waltzing Matilda Centre and Australian Age of Dinosaurs, you’ll enjoy station life, heritage rail travel, a sunset barbecue and our Drover’s Sunset Cruise with Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show.

Our journey begins with a flight from Brisbane to Charleville before travelling deep into some of Australia’s most remote inland country. Along the way, visit Cameron Corner, the Burke and Wills Dig Tree, Birdsville, Big Red, Boulia and the Min Min Encounter before continuing through Winton to Longreach.

Over 10 days, we travel from Longreach to Cairns, leaving the wide-open landscapes of Outback Queensland and gradually making our way through Gulf Country towards the greener landscapes of Tropical North Queensland. It is a journey where the scenery keeps changing around you.

Along the way, we experience two of Queensland’s great heritage rail journeys, the Gulflander and Savannahlander, as well as travelling aboard our luxury 4WD coach. Over 11 days, travel from Cairns through Cooktown, Weipa and Bamaga to Pajinka, the northernmost point of mainland Australia. Along the way, experience the Daintree Rainforest, Bloomfield Track, Quinkan rock art, Fruit Bat Falls and the Jardine River.

The journey then continues into the Torres Strait, with visits to Thursday Island and Horn Island to discover the region’s culture, history and World War II heritage before flying back to Cairns.
