Day 1: Tuesday - Brisbane
Board the Spirit of the Outback train in Brisbane for your overnight rail journey to Longreach. While onboard, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the Shearers Rest Lounge and outback-inspired meals, created with Queensland’s finest produce, in the Tuckerbox Restaurant.

Day 2: Wednesday - Longreach
Arrive in Longreach onboard the Spirit of the Outback, where you will be met by your driver and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy a gourmet grazing platter on arrival at Saltbush Retreat, or take the option of a courtesy bus to the Birdcage Hotel to use your dinner voucher.

Day 3: Thursday - Longreach
This morning, learn the stories of Longreach. Explore the Powerhouse Museum and the historic precinct of Longreach, including morning tea. Mid-morning, visit the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Immerse yourself in a cinematic experience exploring the stockman’s journey alongside this ever-evolving industry.
Day 4: Friday - Longreach
Today, wander through the world-class Qantas Founders Museum, which eloquently tells the story of the founding of Qantas. View remarkable interpretive and interactive exhibits before joining a guided Airpark Tour. This afternoon, return to your accommodation or explore downtown Longreach. Later, take your seat on the top deck of the M.V. Explorer as you glide along the Thomson River and watch the colours of the Outback come alive at sunset. Enjoy on-board nibbles and purchase icy cold drinks from the licensed bar.
Day 5: Saturday – Longreach
Enjoy a free and relaxing day exploring downtown Longreach, or take one of several optional experiences to discover the region further. Options include hiring a car or joining a day trip to Winton with Golden West Tours (additional cost).
Day 6: Sunday – Longreach
Enjoy a leisurely start to your day. Mid-morning, travel to Ilfracombe to uncover the stories and secrets of the “Hub of the West.” Wander along Machinery Mile and enjoy lunch at the famous Wellshot Hotel.
Day 7: Monday - Longreach
After an incredible Outback adventure, transfer to Longreach Railway Station for your departure onboard the Spirit of the Outback, beginning your journey home or onward to your next destination.
Overnight: Spirit of the Outback
Day 8: Tuesday - Brisbane
Disembark the Spirit of the Outback after an unforgettable week out west.
