Day 1: Tuesday - Spirit of the Outback - Brisbane
Board the Spirit of the Outback train in Brisbane for your First-Class overnight rail journey to Longreach. While onboard you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the Shearers Rest Lounge and enjoy outback inspired meals, created with Queensland’s best produce, in the Tuckerbox Restaurant.
Day 2: Wednesday - Longreach
Arrive into Longreach on board the Spirit of the Outback where you will be met by your driver and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy welcome drinks and a gourmet grazing platter at Saltbush Retreat. Or take the option of a courtesy bus to the Birdcage Hotel to use your dinner voucher.

Day 3: Thursday - Longreach
This morning, we visit the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Immerse yourself in the cinematic experience exploring the Stockman’s journey alongside this constantly changing industry. This afternoon, enjoy some leisure time in Longreach or a cool dip in the pool at your accommodation.
Day 4: Friday - Longreach
Today, learn the stories of Longreach and Ilfracombe. This morning explore the Powerhouse Museum and historical precinct of Longreach including morning tea. Late morning, we travel to the historic town of Ilfracombe, the “Hub of the West” and enjoy lunch at the famous Wellshot Hotel. This afternoon, take your seat on the top deck of the M.V. Explorer, as you glide down the Thomson River and watch the colours of the Outback come alive at sunset. Enjoy complimentary nibbles and purchase icy cold drinks from our licenced bar.
Day 5: Saturday – Longreach
Enjoy a free and lazy day exploring downtown Longreach or take one of the several options to explore the region further with a hire car, or a day trip to Winton with Golden West Tours at additional cost.
Day 6: Sunday – Longreach
Enjoy a delicious start to your day with an indulgent breakfast hamper delivered to your room. Today, visit the Qantas Founders Outback Museum. Enjoy a guided interpretive tour where you are taken behind the scenes to hear amazing stories. This afternoon, enjoy some leisure time in Longreach or a cool dip in the pool at your accommodation and reflect on all your great experiences out West.
Day 7: Monday - Enroute to Brisbane
After an incredible Outback adventure, we transfer to Longreach Railway Station for your departure on the Spirit of the Outback to return home to your next port of call.
Day 8: Tuesday - Brisbane
Disembark the Spirit of the Outback after an incredible week out West.
